CHYS will offer 4 summer sailing camps for 2017 beginning June 5th and ending August 4th. Each 40 hour US Sailing curriculum camp is taught by US Sailing Certified Instructors and lasts 2 weeks. The first 2 camps are for basic sail instruction. The last two camps are geared for youth with advanced sailing skills. Those students who qualify after course completion are invited to participate in the Saturday Advanced Sail/Race Training Program. No previous sailing experience is needed, the basic/beginner camp is designed to give each student the knowledge of how to sail and to build their self confidence on the water.To Register for camp on-line, CLICK HERE or copy this address into your browser:

Satisfactory completion of these courses will provide the student with the knowledge and experience to safey enjoy sailing & powerboating. The CHYS Instructor will provide the Florida Boating Course Syllabus, help the student understand the content and proctor the Florida Boat Safety Exam. CHYS will submit the completed Exams to the State so the student may be sent their State Boat Safety Certification Identification Card.

CHYS offers a Saturday Afternoon advanced sail/race training program during the school year for students who have completed one of the Beginner and Intermediate Summer Sailing Camps. Participants in the Saturday Program enjoy a special membership status that allows, with supervision by CHYS adult volunteers and instructors, registration of these students and CHYS boats for local one design regattas. Our Saturday students have competed in the Isles Yacht Club Leukemia Cup and other local events.

ON OUR NEW TEEN SAILING CLUB PROGRAM
COMING THIS SPRING!
During the spring 2017 CHYS will initiate a Teen Sailing Club Program for local High School aged youth (ages 14-18). The program is offered once per week, after school between the hours of 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. This 32 session program is designed to take our students from beginner to intermediate skill levels. During this sail training course, students will be encouraged to enter local regattas, under the supervision of CHYS adult advisors and instructors, using CHYS boats. Teens completing this program are eligible to participate in the High School Sailing Team.
